Can I sit in exam if my attendence is low than 75% ?

  • I’m a student of Bombay Tech, last semester due to some personal family problems I was unable to attend college and complete my 75% attendance, I only attended 67%. When the time came for internal exams I wasn’t allowed to sit for them due to my lack of attendance. I tried to explain to the principal the reason for my failure to attend but she wouldn’t listen. I later found out that several of my classmates who I happen to know had less than 50% attendance were allowed to appear for the paper. When I tried to question the department they refused to entertain my questions. I now have to repeat the semester as I was marked absent for the internal paper. I was treated unfairly, what action can I take against the institute?

What remedy will I get if company is not taking its responsibilty for their negligence?

  • I bought a bag of puppy treats online which was delivered to my house last week, my servant collected it as I was travelling for work. When I got back home I went to get my puppy a treat that I had newly bought. I checked the expiry date as is my usual practice and saw that the packet had expired on the day after it was delivered to my house. The website had a 3 day return policy so I called them to explain the problem but they said that I couldn’t return the treats as it had been 5 days since the product was delivered. The website sells their own product and has third party sellers too. The packet of treats was from a third party seller and so the website said that I should contact them directly. Shouldn’t the website accept some responsibility for the products sold? Who do I complain against? Who should be held responsible?

What if you find lizard in your food?

I went to the store yesterday and bought a packet of sponge cake and a carton of milk. When I got home I gave the packet of sponge cake to my 8 year old daughter as she loves this particular variety of sponge cake. I was in the kitchen pouring her a glass of milk when I suddenly heard her scream and so I ran to her. When I got to her she showed me the opened packet of sponge cake and there was a dead lizard in it. My daughter was terrified, this makes me question every packet of sponge cake I ever bought and fed my daughter. Can I sue the company?

What remedy a student will get if any college is not conducting classes?

  • I took admission in a reputable institute for B.Com. The college never conducted regular classes and when I complained they said that there weren’t enough students attending classes and went to tuitions anyway so they cancelled them. When asked why they didn’t enforce the compulsory attendance rule they said that most of the students doing this course were doing CA on the side which is why the college was lenient towards them. I cannot afford tutions and I depend on the college for my education. I do not want to compromise on my education, how do I make the college conducted classes?

What is the remedy if your online order is not according to expected quality?

  • I usually shop online quite a bit and most of my orders are delivered without any issues. Last month I ordered some books which were to be imported and delivered to me. The time frame aid 10 days and the books arrived after 20 days. On opening the package I found that the books were old and damaged, missing quite a few pages. I immediately called the Customer Service department of the website who noted my complaint and said that they would get back to me. A few days later I received an email from the website that they were not responsible for the damage caused during shipping as they were not the deliverers of the product and that I had purchased it from a third party seller on the website. I am now out of Rs.10,000 and have no books to show for it. What can I do to recover my money, is the website liable to compensate me for my loss?
